Ditch those energy drinks, take a teaspoon of honey instead before working out or whenever you need that boost of energy.   If you don’t want to take it straight, think about adding honey to a cup of tea, toast or on your fruit.

What You Should Know About Honey

  • Do not add real hot or boiling water to honey, it will kill the enzymes that are so beneficial to the honey recipes.   Also do not microwave.   see Dangers of Microwave Ovens

  •  Buy local raw or unpasteurized local honey for maximum results.
  •  Be careful regarding the cinnamon you buy as well.  Typical ground cinnamon from your grocery store could be artificially flavored sawdust.  Yes, I know….disgusting.  You also want to avoid irradiated spices.   Buy from a health food store or any other source you trust.
  •  Honey is the only food that does not spoil or rot.   It can crystallize, simply set the container in a pan of warm water to return to its smooth texture.  (again, avoid extreme heat and do not microwave  see:  Danger of Microwave Ovens)
  • Botulism - Babies intestinal tracts are immature. Once botulinum spores enter their systems, they can produce a substance called botulinus toxin.  This can be found in raw, non-processed honey so avoid giving to young babies.
  •  Most common (popular) Types of Honey - Alfalfa, Blueberry, Buckwheat & Clover
